Straight forward to use and heat-free, press fittings are ideal for joining gas pipework together, an alternative to traditional methods. Available in sizes from 15mm – 54mm, Gas press fittings are an efficient approach to create a secure, rapid and reliable method for creating joints in gas systems.

    What are press fittings?

Press fittings are a type of fitting that can be used to join two pipes together without the need for soldering or compression. While both these traditional installation methods still have their place, press fittings offer you several benefits that make them a useful addition to your plumbing installations.

    How do they work?

The fittings are easy to use, and once installed, create an effective watertight join in your pipework. Unlike soldering, there’s no heat or solder needed to form the joint (no hot works permit needed). Instead, a specially designed power tool is clamped around the press fitting, and once the pipework is inserted in place, this tool can be used to crimp the fitting around the pipe, creating a secure and durable assembly.

    What are the benefits?

Press fittings are easy and simple to use, they require less time to install than traditional joining methods, making them a fast and effective alternative; however, the result is an equally robust, leak-proof joint and a high-quality finish to your pipework. Because they can be used without the need for soldering equipment, the system is a perfect solution for tight installs in hard-to-reach places where the application of heat is impractical or potentially hazardous. They are also ideal for use in installation where soldering isn’t permitted for health and safety reasons, such as schools and hospitals (no hot works permit).

    Why choose CORE press fittings?

All CORE press fittings are manufactured to EN1254 standards, come with a 30-year warranty and the yellow indicator on the outside of the fittings makes it easy to see when the fitting has been joined correctly.
