In very simple terms these range of valves help control the amount of hot water that enters and leaves the radiator. By controlling this flow of water, the heat the radiator can generate/output is controlled. Each type of valve will have a range of performance and safety features.

Isolation

An isolation valve is a product that effectively stops the flow of water from a given location, they are usually used for maintenance or safety purposes. These valves are normally left open in day to day use, so that the user can control the flow of water by turning the valve on and off, like a tap for instance.
